陈逸鸣油画及纸上作品新作述评

  作为成就斐然、在海派油画谱系上占有重要地位的代表画家,陈逸鸣在当下多元开放的艺术语境中,始终保持着一种沉潜入定、蓄势待发的创作状态。他在作品中自由无羁地抒发个性,以自己作品深蕴海派文化的存在方式,去追求和验证艺术的真实价值,在建构自身独具特色的绘画语言体系的同时,以自己蕴藉内心的审美情致,不断在作品中寻求新的突破和超越。这在他近期创作的“红尘”系列油画作品和一系列风景画纸上作品中,得到了有力的印证。尽管逸鸣长期置身海外,但是作为一位典型的海派油画家,艺术创作之于他,就如同返乡,如同访旧。当他拿起画笔,对于往昔都市生活的记忆便开始恢复。与他过去更多的注重以肖像式的形象来表现老上海的都市人文风情不同,逸鸣新近创作的“红尘”系列所呈现的,是一种都市生活叙事形式的作品。虽则这些作品并没有刻意安排一目了然的故事情节,而是巧妙地营造了曾经发生或正在发生的某件事情的规定场景,但却能引人入胜地激活人们的想象力,调动起人们对于上海这座国际大都市历史文化的记忆经验和怀旧情愫,在各自的内心编织起属于自己的故事。真正的艺术是需要细细咀嚼、反复品味的。

  艺术作品一旦成为审美对象,其审美内涵就必须要通过人们有意识去发现它、解读它。一个审美客体的价值,正在于以其感性存在的特有形态,呼唤并且引导欣赏主体的审美体验。 “红尘”系列就是这样的作品。逸鸣以一种隐喻式的叙事方式构筑的一个空间里的两人世界,犹如一个人生舞台,为我们敷演出一个个缠绵绯恻、风情摇曳的动人活剧。作品画意显得朦胧含蓄,不仅充溢着一种足以诱导人们进入场景之中的共通性唯美情调,而且能在很大程度上扩展作品的艺术审美容量,深化作品艺术欣赏的内涵,以生动的形象和生活叙事方式,破译上海这座国际大都会的文化密码,传达出丰富而多解的语义信息。

  上海城市的文化性格,既有着江南文化柔婉和顺的感性主义成分,又有着浪漫温情、精致细腻的地域性审美意趣。它们与西方文化产生回应并共同组成了多元开放的海派文化,成为上海这座移民城市的文化资源和精神支撑,同时也使上海获得现代艺术发展所必需的容量和张力。逸鸣的“红尘”系列油画作品所秉持的,就是这种中西结合的文化精神特质,与海派文化所追求的纯粹和唯美的艺术精神一脉相承。也正是这种海派艺术精神,为他的作品抹上了第一层底色。就这个意义来说,充满上海城市文化意蕴、具有海派美学品格的逸鸣的“红尘”系列油画作品,正可作为上海城市文化的一个醒目的符号。

  都市文化是一个巨大的“精神场”。它是物质性和精神性的交织,是想象和经验的融合,也是各种历史记忆和文化资源的积淀。从逸鸣的“红尘”系列作品,人们会很自然地联想起在上海文化历史长河中熠熠生辉的施蛰存、刘呐鸥、穆时英的“新感觉派”小说和徐志摩、邵洵美、戴望舒的“新月派”和“现代派”诗歌,联想起张爱玲小说《倾城之恋》和《色戒》中的人物,木心散文《上海赋》中的意象。逸鸣的油画与他们在美学品格和精神气质上完成了一次历史记忆上的对接,唤起了我们的想象经验,为我们重新找回久违了的大都市文化历史气息。戴望舒在《独自的时候》的诗中写道:“房间里曾充满过清朗的笑声/正如花园里充满过百合或素馨/人在满积着梦的灰尘中抽烟/沉想着凋残了的音乐//幽暗的房里耀着的只有光泽的木器/独语着的烟斗也黯然缄默/人在尘雾的空间描摩着白润的裸体/和烧着人的火一样的眼睛……”这满含委婉幽闲情调和低缓飘忽意绪的诗句,正可以作为逸鸣“红尘”这组系列油画作品最好的文学注脚。

  艺术需要激情,也需要思考。逸鸣总让自己的艺术创作处于一种与创造性有关的思考状态之中,时间也会改变他思考和观察事物的方式,创新思变,调整他的创作观念以契合当代审美情致。他在长期丰富的艺术实践基础上,不断发掘自身的发展潜质,赋予自己的创作以新的内涵,加强在艺术语言创新上的自主选择,来为自己建构起一种真正自主型的创作生态。从他近年来创作的一系列风景画的混合材料纸上作品中不难发现,他寻觅到了一种似乎可以无限表现的、别具一格的自我形式。他的这些纸上作品的绘画形态,与他的写实主义绘画作品的艺术本体和审美核心上极其一致。这些作品表现出一种明显的写意性和表现性,并且有意识地注入了中国传统美学中的“意象—审美元素,对固有绘画语言进行了一次颠覆和重构,给人以耳目 新的感觉。从艺术语言的本体来看,写实性在艺术上注重体验,写意性和表现性则更强调主观情感的表现和抒发,虽然写实并不排斥写意和表现,写意和表现也不一概否定体验,但两者的差别应是显而易见的。逸鸣以自己富于创造性的艺术实践,在写实性绘画的基础上实现突破,寻找到了表现主义的经验语言,与此同时也吸收了写意性和表现性绘画以及当代视觉艺术经验,在写实和写意两者之间左右逢源,驾驭自如,兼而有之,这是他在油画创作过程中完成的一次新的审美价值取向和自主选择,是一次凸显和建构个性化艺术语言的成功的艺术实践。

  在逸鸣这些独辟蹊径的混合材料纸上作品中,以诗意追求为美学特色,强调将情感寓于简约的构成和色彩之中,用高度概括的绘画语言传情达意,抒泄胸臆。对笔触肌理和色彩色调的诗性把握,成为他这种新艺术风格的重要特征。作品画面表现的都是逸鸣娴熟于心的情景:栉比鳞次的都市街道,河道交织的江南水乡,阡陌纵横的广袤田野,莺飞草长的池塘溪涧……所有这些看似寻常的风景在他的笔下得到了升华,被赋予了清新隽永的美感和诗意。尽管这些作品的构图依然那样坚实和谐,色度依然那样丰富饱满,但轮廓已不再分明,色彩变得朴朔迷离,笔意显得朦胧虚幻,兼具书写性和飞动性的笔触长短不一、疏密有致,充溢着轻灵酣畅、挥洒自如的感觉。他注重将色彩统一在一个朦胧而又和谐的或青或褐的灰色调子中,而很少用纯度和明度高的颜色,由此脱尽了明亮暖色的喧哗,恰到好处地表达了宁静隽永的梦幻般的诗境。画面上,笔触和迹象的作用已不再是帮助形的释读,而是淡化形的具体性,并且已不拘泥于透视、明暗、色彩的客观真实性,由此出发去追求他心中一种神似的、精神化的大自然,从而渲染出他面对物象时的内心感悟,营造出一种混茫含蓄的诗意,舒婉深邃的意境。

  对每一个画家来说,作品都是硬道理。绘画既是精神的一种存在方式,绘画也是为了观看而存在着,画家必须用自己的作品来证明自身的价值。画家的创作形态,即是由不同阶段创作的作品组合而成的呈现过程。逸鸣从早期的《新的起点》和《憧憬》等作品为起点,到“惠安女”系列和“海上淑女”系列,再到近期的“红尘”系列和纸上风景画作品,清晰地见到了他卓尔不群、丰硕坚实的个性化的创作成果和新意迭出的发展脉络。面对他的作品,常使我们体悟到伴随他创作所获得的审美情致和精神愉悦。就精神生活而言,最应强调的正是这种审美情致和精神愉悦的内心体验。而只有当画家成为创作的主体,才能使艺术真正成为人们畅神适意、愉悦心灵的精神图式,同时也为画家自己带来精神性的审美,促进画家更加充满激情地创作出深蕴内心审美情致的艺术作品。逸鸣正是以这样的创作语境,以自己的作品,令人信服地去追求和验证艺术的真正价值。由此,我们也有足够的理由,期待他的作品不断带给我们新的惊喜。
